Change is good, when you're young.

About twice a week, we fiddle with new logos for this and that and the other thing. First, its going back to our simple block letter logo on the site, which I am growing to like. Then we color up the twitter logo and change the facebook logo. That's one fun thing about having any new business that requires a logo. In your initial stages you get to screw with it, mess it up, redo it and just play. Like Churchill once said...

“There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction”

Of course, as your company hopefully gets established and the years creep by, logo monkeying can get you in trouble. Just look at the grief Pepsi is getting over trying to create a simple, non-type logo. Also, once people know what your logo looks like at a glance, by modifying it later, you run the risk them blowing right by you while shopping or web surfing.

Bottom line? If you are new, take advantage of all the great things about being new! Experiment, change things, swap it up and move it around. Because, once your secret sauce hits, you'll have to keep the formula just so in order to avoid the wrath of your customers.
